Procedure For RTI

Submission of Applications under the RTI Act, 2005

Applications seeking information under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 may be submitted through either of the following modes:

  1. Online Submission:
    Through the RTI Online Portal at https://rtionline.gov.in/.
  2. Offline Submission:
    On an A4 size paper addressed to:
    The Central Public Information Officer (CPIO)
    Indian Institute of Technology Indore
    Khandwa Road, Simrol, Indore – 453552 (Madhya Pradesh)

Application Fee

A request for information under sub-section (1) of Section 6 shall be accompanied by an application fee of ₹10 (Rupees Ten only). The fee may be paid through Demand Draft, Indian Postal Order, or Cheque (at par) drawn in favor of “Registrar, IIT Indore.”

Additional Fee for Providing Information {Section 7(1)}

The fee for providing information shall be charged as follows, payable by cash against proper receipt, or by Demand Draft/Banker’s Cheque in favor of “IIT Indore”:

  • ₹2 per page (A4 or A3 size) created or copied
  • Actual cost or price of a copy in larger size paper
  • Actual cost or price for samples or models
  • For inspection of records: No fee for the first hour, thereafter ₹5 for every 15 minutes (or part thereof)

Fee for Information provided in other forms {Section 7(5)}

Fees shall be charged through Demand Draft, Indian Postal Order, or Cheque (at par) payable to “Registrar, IIT Indore” at the following rates:

  • ₹50 per diskette or floppy for information provided in electronic form
  • For printed information: the price fixed for the publication, or ₹2 per page for photocopies/ extracts
